Date question?

What would you think if someone of the opposite sex came up to you holding a box of dates and said "Can I offer you a date?" or "If I offered you a date, would you accept?" Do you think this would be funny or would you be offended? How would you react?

I would love it! Especially if he asked me the first one "Can I offer you a date" while holding out a box of real dates. That shows he has a sense of humor and originality. I seriously would love it.
