Conception date?

Ok so you dont get pregnant on your conception date that they give you right? The date that you count your weeks from which is the last day of your last period...is that correct? Well if you have sex on the 5th and then your conception date is on the 13th and then you have sex again on the 25th, could either of the days that you had sex on be the day you got pregnant? Or would it only be the one after the date of conception?


Sorry if that sounds confusing...

the doc will count from the first day of your last period as your first day of pregnancy. but infact if you have a 28 day cycle, then you would have concieved about 14 days later.

LMP is the FIRST DAY of last menstrual period so u start counting from then for ur cycle.


Ovulation(release of the Ova) happens for some women on the 14th day from LMP and


Conception (fertilising of ova by a sperm) happens within 24hrs as the ova or the egg will live only for 24 hrs. Implantation of the fertilised ovum happens 5-10 days after ovulation. Sperm can live upto 7 days(according to some research) in a woman's womb.So if there is an alive healthy sperm waiting when the ova is released then you can get pregnant. You have given 13th as conception date so I presume u ovulated on the 12th and if you had sex on the 5th and there was an alive healthy sperm in your womb from then...yes u could have gotten pregnant but 25th is far too later.
Reply:The docs go from the first day of your last period. You can track your ovulation. I know exactly when I concieved b/c we were trying and I used a monitor. I concieved 19 days after the first day of my last period.

Reply:sperm can live from 2 to 5 days inside you. you ovulate for a short period of time, so the 25th probably was too long after. more than likely you arent.. but if you already know you are... some calculating might have been wrong... the one before might have been the more likely culprit because thats only 8 days, and the 25th is 12 days after...
