Due date question?

So ive heard that the period due date is always best to go with and that the ultrasound is almost always 2 weeks off. I have multiple due dates which doesnt help me at all. My last period was early october 07. So I feel my baby is due mid july. But My ulrtasound due dates were august 8th, 14th and 17th. I have no idea why my doctor gave me 3 due dates. So I need help because my daughter came 17 days early and I wasnt ready, I dont want to not be ready again!!

go with your lmp make sure your are ready by the time you hit 37 weeks cuz you could go anytime

Reply:In medical school we are taught that the baby has two ages, one dating from the first day of the last menstrual period and one from the date of conception (which is generally two weeks later than the LMP since this is usually when ovulation occurrs.) This would account for due dates being two weeks apart. Ultrasound determines the due date by measuring the skull and the length from the head to the bottom. If the baby is bigger than average, US will say the due date is earlier. If it is smaller, then US will say the due date is later. Hopefully this helps you understand all the different due dates.

Reply:i would go by the u/s and next time you see your dr ask which you go by, you could have just ovulated late so your period is not the best to go by. i had my last period in oct. 06 and my due date was july 26,07 by that but by the u/s it was aug. 20, 07. so, i would go by the middle one and make sure you are ready before the first date.
Reply:My lmp date was April 2nd and they changed my due date to April 12th after an early u/s at 6 weeks. I didn't believe the docs b/c my period is always a 28 day cycle and was always reliable to the day!!! But, here it is April 10th and still no baby! The u/s dates can still be off but they are definately more reliable than going off your lmp. The earlier the u/s is, the better the date prediction should be.
