Last date for filing of annual return and audited accounts co.law india?

following the new procedure of filing e-returns now please let me know whether the last date is extended. Press release in ET dated 26.10.06 says last date for efiling of balance sheet and annual return is fast approaching. What does the dept Ministry of Company Affairs mean by this? Have they extended the last date?
