so i went out with this girl to get coffee, and we talked from 9:45 to 11:15 and the date went amazingly with no awkward moments or anything. only problem is, i didn't compliment her very much outside of the "you look great" at the very beginning of the date. is that a big deal since it is a first date that is meant to be relaxed and fun? i figure the farther along you get with someone the more you compliment them? so on a second date with her, i should probably compliment her a lot more often. am i right on with this judgement? or should i have been complimenting last night?

you are completely right. if you would have complimented her more on the first date u would have been in a bad situation because it would have made akward moments. so good job.
