Is the conception date the actual date you had sex?

Me and my fiance have been trying to have a baby. I took a test last week and it showed that I am indeed pregnant. I used an online due date calculator and it told me the conception date. We didn't have sex on that date and I was wondering if the conception date was something different. I know these things aren't 100% accurate but I've always wondered about that.

Is the conception date the actual date you had sex?
The date of conception is the date of ovulation. Sperm can survive in the female body for up to 3-5 days. So you can have sex on Monday, and conceive on Friday. Or the estimated dates could be wrong.

Most women ovulate about 2 weeks (12-16 days) before their next period, regardless of the length of their cycles. So if your estimate was 14 days counted from the beginning of the cycle, it is almost always wrong! It is an average. It is as accurate as saying you are 5'4" tall because that is the average height for a woman!! You could be perfectly normal and ovulate on day 8 or day 28 of your cycle.
Reply:i just an estimate so you can have an idea of when the baby will be born.

as for conception same thing it's just an estimate.
Reply:the conception date is the date the egg was fertilized. usually within a day or two of sex. depends how quickly the sperm get to the egg, and not get lost along the way.
Reply:The conception date could possibly be a day, maybe 2 later than the day you actually had sex.
Reply:i do believe it is an estamte date maybe actually maybe not
Reply:WELL YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THIS: SPERM CAN LIVE INSIDE YOU FOR UP TO 5 DAYS SO EVEN THOUGH FOR EXAMPLE YOU HAD SEX ON MONDAY BUT DIDN'T GET PREGNANT UNTIL THURSDAY.

ALL YOU CAN DO IS GO BY YOUR LAST PERIOD AND THE TIME IN WHICH YOU OVULATED.

BY THE WAY CONGRATS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!!!

MAYBE WHEN YOU GO TO THE DOCTOR AND HAVE AN ULTRASOUND DONE THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO ESTIMATE WHEN YOU CONCEIEVED.
Reply:No, it can be a day or two difference...It's about "how long the sperm survive." Seriously.
Reply:First, conception can occur as many as three days after sex. In that case, you will probably have a girl because y chromosome sperm, which make boy babies, die sooner than x chromosome sperm.

However, you have calculated your conception date from the first day of your last period. That may not be the actual day you ovulate. Most people are not that regular.
Reply:yes, it is the day you had sex, but, every woman is slightly different (those things are averages) just like the average woman has a 28 day menstrual cycle, but that doesnt mean that every woman in the universe has a period every 28 days exactly...could be a few days in either direction depending on your cycle.
Reply:sperm lives 5 days inside you so it could be you had sex and with in 5 days your egg was fertalized with a baby
Reply:The conception date is the date that you ovulated, it doesnt have to be the date you had sex because sperm can live for up to 5 days before dieing off. And if you ovulated within that 5 days from the date you had sex, you could have gotten pregnant.
