My 2008 tax refund date has changed 3 times?

I filed 2 individual tax returns on the same date. Both were accepted by the IRS on the same date. With in 3 days both returns had the same deposit date which was 2/22/2008. on 2/20 I checked both again. 1 still remains at a deposit date of 2/22 and the other stated due to processing delays the refund would be recievd by 3/11/2008. I checked both again on 2/21 to see if any changes were made.1 still states it would be deposited on 2/22 (today), and it has been deposited.the other still has same 3/11/08 date. I called irs this morning, spoke to a gentleman, that stated i should see my refund by 2/29 no later 3/7/2008.





Whats up with all those DIFFERENT dates!!!????

IRS is simply overwhelmed. People are actually filing EARLY due to the Rebate. They have changed all the original dates on the returns I filed also.
Reply:You should have asked the IRS guy when you had him on the phone. If he couldn't tell you, nobody here likely can either.
Reply:I have the exact situation,all the returns where filed on same day (none where being held up by AMT feb 11 delay).At the IRS website all of them were showing a direct deposit date of 2/22 then changed to 3/11 due to processing delays.The one return that wanted a check in the mail is set to have her refund check mailed on 2/29 ( no processing delays) .So she might get her check before we get direct deposit.
