Question about my due date........?

When I found out I was pregnant I looked up a pregnancy calculator on the internet where you type in when your last period was and it gives you a due date. My last period was 23rd July 2007 and it gave me a due date of 28th of April 2008. I had my 1st ultrasound at 9 weeks and I was told that my due date was 27th of April.

When I saw my doctor at 17 weeks I was told that my due date was 30th of April. I worked out that if I went to 40 weeks (based on LMP) that my baby would be due 28th of April.

Which date is correct? I know that the baby will come when she's ready. People who ask me when my due date is I always tell them 27th of April going by my 1st ultrasound.

Question about my due date........?
Anyone could be the due date. I always go by the one I get when I count 40 weeks from the first day of my last period.
Reply:personally, i think according to yr last LMP 23rd July,yr technical due date should be 30th April, because my last period started on 21st July and my due date is 27th April. But i think these differences in due date could also be due to variations in the length of yr monthly cycle.i used to have a 25 day cycle but i dont know abt yours.

anyway, lots and lots of good luk. our buns are almost ready now....!!!!!!
Reply:I would just go by your 1st ultrasound!!
Reply:Use the ultrasound from around the 16th-17th week of pregnancy. They can judge much better, but chances are baby will come when he/she wants to. If you want to hear something crazy... I had my last period on June 25th, and I'm due the 21st of April with a little boy. It's all gestational and when your egg was actually produced and the sperm met with the egg. I would always go with the sooner they are only several days apart. I have a feeling though that I'm going to go April 13th. It's that motherly instinct! I knew for my first that I would have gone naturally on Aug. 28th, but was induced on the 26th. And had him naturally! Good Luck!
Reply:With all three of my kiddos, my due date changed with every ultra-sound!! I just stuck with the original due date because I knew when I got pregnant with each child!
Reply:the ultrasound is the most accurate, but it doesnt really matter since only 5% of babies are actually born on their due date. i was given 2 dates and my son wasnt born on either. due dates are estimations give or take a bit. your little one is due around april 27th and will come out when her lungs are developped enough :) congrats and i know this stage of pregnancy sucks, but you're getting through it!
Reply:My last period was 23 July as well, and my doctor put my due date at 29 April for some reason. Since it's just one day off I've never said anything about it, but I still secretly count the 28th as my "true" due date. The truth is, the likelihood of baby coming on either of those dates is fairly small anyway--I mean, it could be anywhere from two weeks before to two weeks after, so I'm not sweating it. If it makes you feel better, just keep counting whichever day you choose to go with as your due date. One or two days difference won't be a big deal.
Reply:THERE IS NOT MUCH DIFFERNCE BETWEEN 27 AND 28 OF APRIL

Reply:An ultrasound due date goes by the baby's measurements. I don't like going by that date because your baby could be measuring bigger or smaller than "average". I always went by my LMP.
Reply:Due dates often change based on LMP, Ultrasound measurements and fundus (uterus) measurements. Mine changed a few times, and in the end, it was still off by a week.

Your To-The-Day Due date usually won't matter in the long run because a small percentage of women deliver on their Dr's date. Ultrasounds can be off because they are only guessing based on most women's babies sizes, so it is possible your baby is small or larger, so that can give an incorrect date by a few days or even a week.

Anyway, the online calculator would actually be most accurate if you are 100% of your date of LMP. Doctors don't pay as much attention to the date because many women are off by a day or two in either direction.
Reply:You had your last period on my birthday. wonderful,

anyways!

Honestly I was told three days, Dec 17,18,and 19.

After ultra sounds i was told Dec 18th. And went with it, It doesn't really matter anyways.. 5% of kids are born on their due dates. It just pretty much gives you a guideline of when it should be around.
Reply:28th, 27th, 30th, they are all so close together it really doesn't matter. Be thankful you're not getting something that's two weeks off(like me..... haha).
Reply:My doctor told me to go by the earliest scan date, as when they are done early on there is less room for variation than with later scans (as babies grow at different rates). I had a scan done at 7 weeks and since then, every doctor I have seen has gone from the date given then. Going by the date of the LMP, will only give an accurate date if your cycle is definitely 28 days. I would go with the 27th as you have been.

Good luck!
